2. Take a taxi or have a
sober person do the driving.
3. Make sure that all of
your headlights, tail lights, brake lights, license plate lights, and signal
lights are all working. 4. Turn on your headlights at night. 5. Have a valid driver’s license and current vehicle registration in your possession when driving the vehicle. 6. Be polite and respectful to other drivers. 7.Obey all traffic laws.
8. Do not speed
or drive so slowly that you attract attention. 9. Stay in you lane. If you weave into another lane, that can cause a police stop. 10. Use your turn signals when making turns. 11. If you are stopped, do not take the voluntary balance or coordination field sobriety tests.Also, do not let the officer check your eyes. 12. If you are over 21 years old, do not take the road side breath test which is known as the PAS device. 13. If you are arrested for DUI, you will have to give a sample for a chemical test. First, choose urine. In most cases, the police will say that urine is not available. If urine is not available, choose breath, then ask the police for a test that will preserve a sample. Ask for urine again on the basis that you do not want to take a blood test that runs the risk of transmission of hepatitis C and AIDS.
