Medical Condition Caused The Breath Test To Be Overstated

A condition called GERD (acid reflux) can cause breath testing to be overstated.  This is caused by regurgitation of alcohol from the stomach entering the mouth during a breath test by someone who has GERD.

Having a fever or high body temperature can also cause breath temperature to be higher than what the breath machine is expecting, and therefore result in an erroneously high breath alcohol reading.
